wildbrumby Schnapps Distillery Internship
I completed a graduate internship spending about 145 hours working at the wildbrumby Distillery at Crackenback, NSW in 2016. In the course of this internship, I was able to see how many of the things I learnt during my course are used in practice in commercial organisations and had the opportunity to apply my UX/UI skills in a real life situation. I also gained practical experience in marketing, data base management and project management. I also gained a good insight into the realities of working in a small business environment.
Photography for the launch of the new gin product.
Nearly half my time was spent developing advertising and promotional material for wildbrumby, production of a booklet, photography and editing and on poster design for Canberra and Jindabyne retail. The theoretical aspects of graphic design, colour theory and typography were all really relevant here. Digital image manipulation tools were integral to editing photographic and digital video to product high quality visual communications.
Lake Gindabyne Poster
I created posters to be used to advertise wildbrumby's new Gin. Using historical images of old Jindabyne (now located underneath Lake Jindabyne) that I sourced from long term residents and playing on the fact that water is used in making Gin, I created a marketing concept of Lake 'Gindabyne'.
wildbrumby Recipe + Art Book
I designed the cover and contents for a book that would showcase the various art sculptures on the property, pairing them with matching cocktail recipes using the wildbrumby products. Each cocktail was designed and tailored to match each artwork and the photographed using a lightbox.
Brand aligned merchandise
I designed merchandise for the company's side brand 'schnappy hour', in an effort to appeal to the younger target market. I designed shirts, beanies and other snow and youth related merchandise.
Social Media Promotion
I created images to be used on social media to promote various events and campaigns that involved the company. An example is the collaborative event between wildbrumby and Pialligo Estate.

Wholesale Marketing Research
I researched and interviewed wildbrumby's wholesale customers and identified various issues and customer needs. One particular need was that they had no merchandise to display the schnapps and one customer had even resorted to displaying the wildbrumby schnapps in another companies display unit! As a result I decided to design possible displays for a range of wholesalers with different options based on the budget available.
